Lots of good answers here, but i would suggest that you look at your university education in different ways.
First i would consider where i would want to live in our large and diverse country. Big city, small town, cold winters and hot summers, or relatively mild all year?
Then there’s the cost. What can you afford and where can you afford to live. For example, here on the West Coast it would probabaly be more expensive to attend UBC and to live in Vancouver, than to attend VIU and live in Nanaimo.
Finally, and for me not last nor least, what is your passion and what school has the best reputation in your chosen field. The last criteria were the most important for me.
Once you choose these preferences, than i would go ahead and apply to several universities so ultimately, you have a choice. For my undergraduate studies, i had acceptance from three universities, then chose the only one i could afford. Luckily it was in Montreal where my parents lived, and had a great reputation.
I wish you well.
